09 February 2007

easyLab Technologies Ltd. (easyLab) announce that it has acquired Optiprexx Ltd. (Optiprexx) on the 9th of February 2007. Optiprexx, a UK-based company, supply photoluminescence optical systems and related accessories for the high-pressure scientific community.  Its main product Optiprexx LightBox, which has been sold world-wide, provides a unique turn-key solution to measure in-situ pressure generated by diamond anvil cells (DACs).  This product will now be solely produced and commercialised by easyLab under the name of Optiprexx Photoluminescence System (Optiprexx PLS).  easyLab will also use further technology and intellectual property assets from the acquisition to develop additional tools for science under pressure.

"The Optiprexx PLS is a very exciting product for us and our customers.  Indeed, its design, engineering and functionalities make it a very attractive and unique tool for the researcher in the field of high-pressure.", said Christophe Thessieu, easyLab Director.  "What is particularly exciting for us is that, through this acquisition, we are now able to offer an even more integrated technical solution for high-pressure research.  Not only are we generating the pressure but we are now able to measure it where it really matters!"

Dr. Andrei Sapelkin, the principal of Optiprexx, will remain on board as a Technology Consultant, taking an active role in the development and design of the next generation of optical equipment for pressure calibration to be developed by easyLab.  "easyLab have an established track record of commercial success at bringing to market scientific equipment dedicated to high pressure research. I am therefore delighted that through this acquisition the Optiprexx PLS will be exposed to the wider scientific community.", said Dr. Sapelkin.

The acquisition of Optiprexx and the integration of its product line by easyLab should be seamless to existing customers, as they will continue to receive the same high-quality products and associated customer support.
